Flipped Stitch Youniverse began long before the first hoodie was printed. It started with a woman who has always seen the world a little differently.
For years, I poured my energy into supporting others, building community, and finding ways to bring comfort and connection into people’s lives. In the shelter and overdose prevention site where I worked, a resident I’d known since childhood shared three simple truths he wished the world lived by:
Give more than you take.
Heal more than you hurt.
Love more than you hate.
Those words stayed with me. I wanted a way to keep that message visible — for myself, for the staff around me, and for anyone who crossed my path. That single design became the spark for Flipped Stitch.
A walking contradiction. A functioning oxymoron.
That spark evolved as I learned that I’m basically a walking contradiction: soft and stubborn, calm and chaotic, grounded and floating — sometimes all at once.
My clothing has always been my mood ring. Some days I dress like comfort. Some days I dress like caution tape. Some days I dress like I’m hiding from humanity. Some days I dress like I am humanity.
Eventually I realized this was emotional weather reporting. I’m usually the first one to look ridiculous on purpose, because humour makes honesty easier and humility makes being human less embarrassing.
Comfort + chaos = me, but trying.

Flipped Stitch Youniverse is for people who feel like walking contradictions too — the soft-but-stubborn, the calm-but-chaotic, the “I’m fine” but also “I’m absolutely not.”
Every hoodie we create carries intention: armour for the days you need strength, a hug when you need comfort, and a middle finger to anything trying to dim your light.
If you get it, you get it. If you don’t, you will. But when you do, you’ll laugh yourself silly.
